CLEVELAND, WI

Lakeshore Technical College recently renamed its Wisconsin Training Room to the Cleveland Training Room to recognize the village in which LTC’s main campus is located.

The LTC District Board approved the renaming at its April 16 meeting. On May 12, approximately 65 individuals, including LTC Board Chair Cindy Huhn, LTC President Mike Lanser and the Greater Centerville Historians, attended a Cleveland Training Room dedication event held at the college.

Attendees were able to view several wall prints of historical photos and information about the Cleveland area. The prints, which will remain on permanent display in the room, were created by LTC in collaboration with the historical group.

The dedication program included remarks from Lanser, Huhn and Greater Centerville Historian Researcher Charlie Bauer as well as a short video about the history of Centerville. Greater Centerville Historian Chairperson Kathy Sixel, videographer Jerry O’Neil and historian Richard Otto Wiegand, Ph.D., also were recognized at the event.

In addition, Huhn and Lanser signed a resolution that recognizes the village of Cleveland, residents of the Cleveland area and the Greater Centerville Historians for their support and contributions to LTC and its students and staff.

Following the dedication, Lanser and former LTC presidents Dennis Ladwig and Fred Nierode gave a presentation on the history of the college at the Greater Centerville Historians’ regular monthly meeting.
