LTC to host Career Discovery sessions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
04/16/08

CLEVELAND, WI

Lakeshore Technical College invites those in the general public who want to take the next step in their education or career to attend Career Discovery sessions at LTC’s Cleveland campus on April 28 and 30.

The sessions will be held in the Lakeshore Building’s Fireside area, and interested individuals may attend anytime from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

At the free career exploration sessions, participants will learn how they can fit college into their busy lives. College counselors will be available with valuable career advice and information about classes.

Division deans also will provide unique insight about their specific programs, and admissions staff will guide participants through the application process.

At Career Discovery, participants can tour the campus and talk with financial aid staff to learn about options to help pay for college. Participants also can take the WisCareers interactive, self–assessment inventory, which provides insight about career goal options.

Career Discovery benefits individuals who are:

  • ready to get back to college after taking time off,
  • interested in transferring to a different college,
  • interested in a more satisfying career,
  • working but needing to update their skills to advance, or
  • graduating from high school and not sure what to do next.
