Evening College FAQ

Are there forms I need to fill out?
Yes, the type of form you need to fill out is based on the program you are applying for. Your Counselor or Admissions Specialist will tell you which form(s) you need.

Is there an Application for Admissions deadline?
LTC continuously accepts applications for admission. However, in order to ensure adequate time to process your application and for you to complete the college and program admissions requirements, we have set July 1 for fall start and November 1 for spring start as a guideline for applying.

I applied to LTC in the past. Do I need to repay my application fee?
If you applied prior to July 1, 1998, you would need to pay the $30 application fee again. If you applied after July 1, 1998 and already paid your application fee, you do not need to pay it again.

I previously paid a $30 application fee to another Wisconsin Technical college. Do I need to pay it again if I apply to LTC?
Yes. An application fee needs to be paid to each technical college you apply to.

LTC requested a copy of my transcripts. Can I just send you a copy of the one I have?
No. We require all transcripts to be OFFICIAL. In order for it to be considered official, it needs to be in a sealed envelope directly from your school.

I graduated from High School 15+ years ago. Do you still need my High School transcript?
Yes, Transcripts are required for admission to the college. Some programs may even require a high school transcript to remain accredited. Contact your high school and have them send the transcript directly to LTC. (If you name has changed since graduation, be sure to remind your school to write your new name on your transcript.)

Do I need to take an entrance assessment to be admitted to LTC and my program?
If you have not taken an entrance assessment in the past three years, (ACT, Accuplacer, Compass, or Asset), you will need to take an entrance assessment in order to be admitted to LTC and your program. There are a few circumstances that may waive this requirement, please see Admissions for waiver information.

Is there information available to help me practice for the assessment
tests?

LTC has a practice assessment available for your use.

Do I need to be admitted to a program to take classes at LTC?
No. Anyone can register for General Studies classes. However, if it is your intention to complete an associate degree, technical diploma or certificate program, it is to your benefit to submit an application for admissions as soon as possible. (Some program classes may require program admission for registration.)

How do I know if I’ve been admitted to a program?
Once you have completed all college and program admissions requirements, you will receive a letter indicating you have been admitted. (Please allow 5 – 10 days for processing and mail.)

I’ve already taken some of my General Education classes at another college. Will they transfer to my program at LTC?
Contact your college and have them send an OFFICIAL copy of your transcript to LTC. Once they have arrived, schedule an appointment with your program counselor for transcript review.
